While enjoying a calm and misty morning at the pier in Malibu, I spotted dolphins. After observing them for a while, I noticed that their swimming was synchronized. There was a natural explanation for their circling – a feast had begun, quickly attracting sea lions, pelicans and seagulls.
Ten years ago, during my master’s studies I traveled for 2 expeditions. First one took me for one month to Papua New Guinea, the trip I later called “Month in Paradise”. And afterwards I said goodbye to my fellows, changed planes in Philippines and headed back “down” to Borneo for another 6 weeks.

Being an outdoor photographer sometime means finishing office work in the evening, preparing & packing for field trip and driving a few hundred kilometres overnight to get close to destination. Then you wake up at 5am, drive some heavy off-road pushing the boundaries a bit and spend several hours freezing on site photographing.
